The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old Nana Yaw Kyere, who was reported missing on September 22, 2026.
The suspects have been identified as Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai.
According to the Police, preliminary investigations indicate that Nana Yaw Kyere was allegedly lured to the residence of Philip Tefe at Teshie Agbleza by Sarah Osei Adams.
The Police say information gathered from the suspects indicates that Tefe allegedly attacked the victim with a metallic object.
Nana Yaw was subsequently moved to another room, where he was allegedly left unattended and later died.
Investigators further allege that the victim’s body was transported in a Kia Morning, dumped near the motorway and set ablaze.
The partially burnt body was later discovered at Community 18 and subsequently identified by the victim’s biological mother and uncle.
The Police have also recovered Nana Yaw’s iPhone 12, which they allege was sold by Tefe for GH¢100.
The buyer, identified as Sunday Omeje, has been cautioned and detained on suspicion of dishonestly receiving the phone.
The third suspect, Josiah Obodai, was arrested in connection with the alleged disposal of the body.
Police have also impounded a Kia Morning belonging to his father.
The three suspects remain in Police custody and are expected to be arraigned before the court as investigations continue.
The Police say efforts are underway to identify and arrest other persons who may have been involved in the incident.
