A fatal accident has occurred at the Kintampo Waterfalls junction in the Bono East Region, resulting in one death and four injuries.
The accident involved a head-on collision between a fuel tanker and a Howo truck on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), a distress call was received, and a crew was dispatched to the scene.
The timely intervention saved four victims who were trapped in the vehicles.
However, one passenger on board the Howo truck was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The Bono East Region Public Relations Officer for GNFS, ADO I Victor Gyan, in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng disclosed that both vehicles were destroyed beyond repair and investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
