The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has paid a total of GH₵392 million in claims to healthcare providers for services rendered in December 2025 and January 2026.
In a statement, the Authority explained that Of this amount, GH₵301.7 million was disbursed in December, with an additional GH₵90.4 million paid in January.
Public and private health facilities received the bulk of the payments, accounting for about 80.55%, while mission facilities received the remaining 19.45%.
In nominal terms, public facilities were paid GH₵157.2 million, private facilities GH₵158.6 million, and mission facilities GH₵76.2 million.
“In December 2025, the Authority paid GHC301,658,338.13 in claims. This was followed by an additional GHC90,373,513.13 paid in January 2026, bringing the total amount paid during the two-month period to almost GHC400 million.”
The NHIA said the payments reflect its commitment to timely reimbursements, enabling providers to continue delivering quality healthcare to NHIS members nationwide.
