The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has handed over skills training equipment to its Western North Regional Directorate for distribution to beneficiaries under the Agency’s various skills training programmes.
The initiative is aimed at equipping young people with practical tools to complement the skills they acquire through YEA’s training programmes and support them to create sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The equipment are expected to enable beneficiaries to apply their acquired skills in areas of work and entrepreneurship, reducing barriers to starting or expanding their own businesses.
The intervention forms part of efforts by the YEA to empower young people with employable skills and the necessary resources to become economically independent.
The handover was carried out the Chief Executive Officer of YEA, Malik Basintale at a colourful ceremony
According to him, handing over is a positive step towards strengthening youth development and creating opportunities for young people in the Western North Region.
He maintained that the initiative is also expected to contribute to the broader efforts to address youth unemployment by supporting beneficiaries to transition from skills training into productive employment and self-employment.
