The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Jinapor, together with the management of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), have broken ground for the construction of an ultra-modern community centre at Mpaha in the Yapei/Kusawgu Constituency of the Savannah Region.
The project, being undertaken by the GNPC Foundation, is expected to provide a dedicated space for youth development, civic engagement and community activities.
The centre will go beyond entertainment and recreation by serving as a hub for youth mentorship and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training.
It is expected to equip young people in the community with relevant skills and create opportunities for them to participate actively in the development of the constituency.
The project is also intended to provide a platform for community engagement and activities that promote the social and human development of residents.
The Miniter who is also the MP for the area in a remark expressed appreciation to the GNPC Foundation for its commitment to the initiative, which is expected to be completed within six months.
The facility is anticipated to become an important community asset for residents of Mpaha and surrounding areas, particularly young people seeking opportunities for skills development and mentorship.
