Ghana’s year-on-year inflation rate has risen to 5.3 percent in June 2026, according to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, reflecting a continued easing in the rate of price increases across the economy.

Inflation rate rose for the third consecutive month, increasing to 5.3% in June from 3.7% in May, according to the latest data released by the Ghana Statistical Service

The June inflation rate represents the percentage change in the general price level of goods and services purchased by households between June 2025 and June 2026.
On a month-on-month basis, inflation increased by 0.2 percent.

The data show that inflation has continued its downward trend from 13.7 percent in June 2025, easing steadily over the past year before settling at 5.3 percent in June 2026.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages recorded a year-on-year inflation rate of 3.9 percent, while the non-food category posted a higher inflation rate of 6.3 percent, indicating that non-food items remained the main driver of overall inflation during the month.

Regional inflation rates varied significantly across the country.
The North East Region recorded the highest year-on-year inflation rate at 10.2 percent, while the Bono East Region registered the lowest at -4.4 percent.
Overall, six regions recorded inflation rates above the national average of 5.3 percent.

The Consumer Price Index, which uses 2021 as its base year, measures changes in the prices of goods and services acquired by households for consumption and serves as the country’s primary gauge of inflation.
