The Member of Parliament for Gomoa West in the Central Region, Richard Gyan-Mensah, has joined traditional leaders, government officials and residents of Gomoa Ankamu for the sod-cutting ceremony of the government’s flagship 24-Hour Economy Market Project.
The ceremony brought together the District Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Kassim, Assembly Members, and traditional authorities led by His Majesty Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI, Paramount Chief of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Council.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Gyan-Mensah commended the chiefs of Gomoa Ankamu for releasing a large tract of land for the implementation of the project, describing it as a key contribution to local development.
He urged the contractor to adopt a labour-intensive approach to maximize job creation for young people in the area and encouraged residents to take ownership of the project by protecting materials on site and supporting quality execution of the works.
The MP noted that the project forms part of the government’s broader 24-Hour Economy agenda, which he said is aimed at driving economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and accelerating development across communities.
He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Gomoa West fully benefits from ongoing national development initiatives under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.
