The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) has brought together its Regional Coordinators and Patient Navigating Officers from across the country for a hands-on session aimed at improving operational efficiency and service delivery.
The engagement, held as the Trust Fund approaches the end of its first year of operations, focused on key aspects of the Fund’s work, including its Tariffs Operational Manual, Medicines List and GMTFcare process flow.
Participants also shared experiences from partner hospitals where the Trust Fund is currently present, with the discussions aimed at equipping frontline personnel with the knowledge and tools needed to provide smoother, smarter and more responsive support to patients.
Administrator of the GMTF, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, used the occasion to appreciate the Regional Coordinators and Patient Navigating Officers for their commitment and sacrifices during the Fund’s first year.
She acknowledged the many hours of work that go into supporting patients and reaching the milestones recorded by the Trust Fund since its establishment.
Ms. Darko-Opoku said the gathering was also an opportunity to remind staff of the human impact of their work, stressing that behind every process, referral and approval is a person hoping for another chance at life.
As the GMTF prepares to enter its second year, the Administrator urged the team to build on the foundation laid during the first year by improving service delivery, expanding the Fund’s reach and ensuring that support gets to those who need it most.
She emphasised that the Trust Fund’s next phase would require continued dedication from its frontline teams as it seeks to make a greater difference in the lives of patients across the country.
