The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the National Harmonised Prospectus for students preparing to enrol in Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) for the 2026/2027 academic year.
In a statement signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at the GES, the Service said the prospectus covers essential items required by prospective boarding and day students ahead of the new academic year.
“The general public, especially parents and students preparing to enrol in Senior High School (SHS/SHTS) for the 2026/2027 academic year, is hereby informed of the release of the National Harmonised Prospectus for both prospective boarding and day students,” the statement said.
The GES urged parents and students to carefully review the prospectus and make the necessary preparations ahead of the commencement of the academic year.
Schools and other relevant stakeholders have also been directed to comply with the requirements outlined in the prospectus to ensure a smooth and standardised admission process nationwide.
The release comes ahead of the expected publication of the 2026 school placements for candidates who sat the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The school placements, which were previously expected to be released earlier, have been rescheduled and are now expected to be published on Friday, September 4, 2026.
The BECE is conducted at the end of junior high school and forms part of the process for placing qualified candidates into senior high and technical schools.
According to the GES, the prospectus has been released ahead of the placements to give parents and students clear guidance on what newly admitted students will require when they report to school.
