The National Petroleum Authority (NPA), led by its Chief Executive, Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, has joined the nationwide clean-up exercise declared by President John Dramani Mahama to restore communities affected by the recent floods and promote environmental sanitation.
The exercise, held on Friday, July 10, 2026, was organised under the theme “Our Actions, Our Future: Cleaning Ghana after the Floods” and formed part of government’s post-flood measures aimed at reducing the risk of future flooding through collective public action.
Management and staff of the NPA cleaned the surroundings of the Authority’s National Head Office and parts of the Dzorwulu community, where they desilted choked drains, cleared gutters and swept sections of surrounding streets, including portions of the George Walker Bush Highway.
The exercise was carried out in collaboration with the Buz Stop Boys and also saw the participation of management and staff of the Petroleum Commission, led by Deputy Chief Executive Nasir Alfa Mohammed.
The team was joined by the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon and Deputy Minister for Agriculture, John Dumelo.
Speaking after the clean-up, NPA Chief Executive Godwin Kudzo Tameklo reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to supporting national initiatives that promote environmental sustainability, public health and safety.
He urged Ghanaians to adopt responsible sanitation practices and contribute to efforts aimed at preventing flooding and maintaining cleaner communities.
