The Friends of Julius Debrah, a prominent political support group, has launched a nationwide solidarity campaign aimed at mobilising Ghanaians to rally behind the Black Stars as the senior national football team prepares for crucial matches on the global stage.
The campaign, dubbed “Stand Up, Stand Proud — Back the Black Stars!”, seeks to harness the country’s passion for football and transform it into a powerful show of national unity and support for the team.
In campaign materials released by the group, featuring an image of Julius Debrah holding a football, organisers described the tournament as more than a sporting competition, portraying it as an opportunity for Ghanaians to demonstrate their shared values and national pride.
“The World Cup is more than just a tournament—it is a celebration of Ghana’s unity, resilience, determination and spirit.
Together, let us raise our voices, wave our flags and inspire our team to victory,” the group stated.
According to the organisers, the initiative is designed to unite Ghanaians across political, ethnic and social divides in support of the national team under the theme, “One Nation. One Team.”
The campaign’s promotional materials feature several Black Stars players, including Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu and Inaki Williams, highlighting the collective effort required to achieve success on the international stage.
Spokespersons for the Friends of Julius Debrah said the campaign is being rolled out across all regions of the country, encouraging citizens to display visible signs of support in their homes, communities and workplaces.
As part of the initiative, Ghanaians are being urged to proudly display the national flag and create an atmosphere of encouragement for the Black Stars throughout the tournament.
The group noted that the campaign is intended to remind the players that they carry the hopes, prayers and support of millions of Ghanaians wherever they compete.
Organisers expressed confidence that a united display of patriotism and solidarity could inspire the team as it seeks success on the world stage.
