The Ministry of Education has warned students, parents and guardians against fake Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) placement slips being circulated on social media.

The Ministry said some individuals are digitally altering placement documents and presenting them as evidence that students’ original school placements have been changed.

According to the Ministry, preliminary checks have revealed that some of the documents being shared online do not correspond with records generated from the official CSSPS platform.

It said the barcodes and QR codes on the purported placement slips do not match the placement information displayed on the documents being circulated.

“The Ministry wishes to state unequivocally that these claims are false and misleading,” the statement said.

The Ministry further said its system records and audit logs do not support claims that the affected placements were changed.

“The evidence available to the Ministry indicates that the affected documents have been digitally manipulated or otherwise altered to create the impression that students’ placements have been changed.”

The development, the Ministry said, could undermine public confidence in the placement process and create unnecessary anxiety among students and their families.

It has consequently referred the matter to the Cyber Security Authority and other relevant security agencies for investigation and possible action.

The Ministry has urged the public to be cautious and avoid sharing unverified placement slips or claims on social media.

Parents, guardians and students have also been advised to rely only on placement information obtained through the official CSSPS channels.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the 2026 CSSPS placement exercise is conducted with transparency, fairness, integrity and accountability.

It also assured the public that legitimate concerns about placements would be investigated through the appropriate channels.
