New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has congratulated newly elected regional executives following the party’s regional elections held across the country.
In a statement issued on Sunday, August 16, 2026, Dr Bawumia commended party members for the peaceful conduct of the elections, describing it as a reaffirmation of the NPP’s commitment to internal democracy and respect for the will of its members.
He expressed confidence that the newly elected executives would provide the leadership needed to strengthen the party’s structures and position the NPP for victory in the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Dr Bawumia also commended all candidates who contested the various positions for offering themselves to serve the party.
He urged those who were unsuccessful in the elections to put the contests behind them and support the newly elected executives in the interest of the party.
“The regional contest is over, the greater task is unity and renewed energy to secure victory in 2028 and it begins now,” Dr Bawumia said.
The NPP regional elections form part of the party’s ongoing reorganisation and preparations ahead of the 2028 general elections.
