The Ghana Chamber of Mines has welcomed the government’s latest intervention to resolve the impasse surrounding Adamus Resources Limited, describing the agreement as an important step towards restoring the mine’s operations.
In a statement issued in Accra on Friday, August 21, 2026, the Chamber said it supported the implementation of a 12-month roadmap designed to turn around the company, with the process to be overseen by a six-member joint management team.
The Chamber said the agreement reflected the commitment of the government and other stakeholders to dialogue, investor confidence and the preservation of productive mining assets.
It noted that the revival of Adamus Resources was particularly significant because the company is among Ghana’s few indigenous large-scale mining operations.
According to the Chamber, restoring the mine would help protect jobs, sustain businesses and communities in the company’s operational areas, and preserve its contribution to government revenue and the wider mining value chain.
“The Chamber welcomes the agreement to implement a twelve-month roadmap to turn around the mine, supported by a six-member joint management team,” the statement said.
The industry association commended the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and the leadership of the Minerals Commission for their efforts to find a practical solution to the challenges confronting the company.
It also acknowledged the management of Adamus Resources for what it described as constructive engagement throughout the process.
The Chamber urged all parties to ensure transparency, accountability and full commitment to the agreed roadmap to improve the prospects of a successful turnaround.
It said particular attention should be paid to addressing outstanding liabilities and securing the investment needed to guarantee the mine’s sustainable operations.
The Chamber stressed that effective implementation of the roadmap would be crucial to restoring confidence in Adamus Resources and securing its long-term contribution to Ghana’s economy.
“The Ghana Chamber of Mines remains ready to support efforts that protect investments and jobs, promote responsible local participation and strengthen the long-term contribution of mining to Ghana’s development,” it said.
The latest agreement follows efforts by the government and stakeholders to resolve the challenges surrounding Adamus Resources and establish a sustainable framework for the continued operation of the mine.
