The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested 54 individuals in a series of intelligence-led swoop operations targeting illegal drug activities and robbery hideouts across the region.
The operations, conducted in areas including Abesim, Banda, Nkrankwanta, Odumase, Dumasua, Wenchi, and Dormaa, form part of ongoing efforts to rid communities of criminal elements ahead of the festive season.

Presenting the update, Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer for the Bono Regional Police, stated, “This exercise is part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug peddlers and users, and rid our communities of these miscreants.”

Among the suspects apprehended are Rev. Alex Kwaku Manu (36), Adams Moro (32), Kwaku Kyere (40), and Ata Opare (20), with ages ranging from 17 to 45.
The police also recovered various substances and items, including tramadol, dried leaves and seeds suspected to be Indian hemp, a small crusher, six pairs of scissors, a green tricycle, matches, and cigarettes, which have been retained as evidence.

All 54 suspects have been arraigned and remanded in police custody for further investigation.
The Bono Regional Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring a crime-free festive season and warned that anyone engaging in criminal activity would face the full rigours of the law.
