Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus has completed a sensational move to Tottenham Hotspur from West Ham United in a deal worth £55 million, marking a significant leap in his club career.

Tottenham confirmed the signing on Thursday evening, revealing that Kudus has agreed to a six-year contract that runs until 2031.

The move is subject to a work permit, and Kudus will wear the number 20 shirt for the North London club.

The 24-year-old forward had been on Tottenham’s radar for months.

West Ham had previously rejected a £50 million offer before finally agreeing to the current deal, which falls below Kudus’ £85 million release clause.

His transfer comes after an impressive stint with the Hammers, where he made 65 Premier League appearances, scored 13 goals, and provided nine assists since joining from Ajax in 2023 for £38 million.

Kudus’ football journey began in Ghana with Strong Tower FC before advancing his development at the renowned Right to Dream Academy.

He later made his mark in Europe with Danish side FC Nordsjælland, earning a move to Dutch giants Ajax, where he further established his reputation as one of Africa’s brightest football talents.

At Tottenham, Kudus is expected to play a pivotal role as the club rebuilds under manager Ange Postecoglou.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s summer business could continue with Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White also close to joining.

The Englishman is expected to undergo a medical on Friday ahead of a reported £60 million switch.

Kudus’ arrival not only adds firepower to Spurs’ midfield and attack but also reinforces the Premier League’s growing attraction to top African talents.
