The Ministry of Finance, led by Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, is expected to conclude this week’s series of budget hearings with various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The hearings form part of the government’s preparations for the upcoming budget and provide an opportunity for the various MDAs to present their programmes, priorities and funding requirements.
According to the Ministry, the process is being guided by a central principle — ensuring that the interests of the Ghanaian people remain the priority in every decision taken.
The Ministry says the hearings are intended to help align government spending with national priorities and ensure that available public resources are directed towards areas that deliver value to citizens.
It said through every hearing and decision, the welfare and interests of Ghanaians will remain at the centre of the budget preparation process.
