The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe and Second Deputy Minority Whip, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has hosted a special Ghana Waakye Day celebration, bringing together scores of constituents to sample one of Ghana’s popular delicacies.
The event, held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the forecourt of the MP’s office at Weija SCC, provided an opportunity for members of the constituency to interact, network and strengthen unity among themselves.
Speaking at the event, Mr Shaib said the initiative was aimed at bringing constituents together to foster unity while creating an informal platform for networking and engagement.
He said the celebration also gave him the opportunity to interact directly with constituents and hear about some of the challenges confronting them.
According to Mr Shaib, the direct engagement was important because it enabled him to better understand the concerns of constituents and identify areas where attention may be required.
He further announced that the Ghana Waakye Day would become an annual event on his calendar, indicating that the initiative was intended to continue as a regular platform for bringing constituents together.
