The Bank of Ghana has joined the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) to launch investorConnect, a new digital platform designed to give investors direct access to their securities and transaction records.
The platform allows investors to open accounts, verify their identities using the Ghanacard and view their securities holdings and transaction history digitally.
The initiative is expected to strengthen transparency and give investors greater visibility over their investments by enabling them to independently access and verify their records.
The launch is also aimed at strengthening investor confidence in Ghana’s capital market, by reducing reliance on intermediaries for information on securities holdings and transactions.
The Governor of Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Asiama in a remark said the initiative will ensure greater transparency and direct access to investment records.
According to him, these are important for building confidence in the capital market and encouraging wider participation.
The launch also comes amid efforts to deepen Ghana’s capital market and improve access to long-term financing for businesses and government.
He explained that a deeper capital market can provide an alternative source of long-term funding beyond short-term deposits and traditional bank credit, while supporting savings and investment.
