The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will open nominations for its 2026 Constituency Executive Elections on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
The National Secretariat, in a statement dated September 10 and signed by Deputy General Secretary Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, said the opening of nominations forms part of the timetable earlier announced for the party’s internal elections.
The party has encouraged members seeking to contest the various constituency executive positions to take advantage of the nomination period and comply with the prescribed requirements.
The NDC said all payments for the picking and filing of nominations must be made strictly through its online portal using mobile money across all networks.
It added that aspirants, proposers, seconders and endorsers must be members in good standing and must have fully paid their membership dues for the past four years.
Members with outstanding dues have been directed to settle their arrears through the party’s designated payment channels before participating in the process.
The National Secretariat has also officially opened campaign activities for aspirants contesting the party’s 2026 internal elections at the constituency, regional and national levels.
The party has directed its officials, including regional officers, constituency officers and ward coordinators, to allow all eligible aspirants to campaign within their respective jurisdictions.
However, the NDC has drawn a clear distinction between internal executive aspirants and persons pursuing parliamentary ambitions.
According to the party, the campaign window does not apply to persons seeking or intending to seek parliamentary positions, including sitting Members of Parliament and individuals currently considering or expressing an intention to contest parliamentary elections.
Such persons, the party said, are not permitted to engage in campaigning activities under the current internal election campaign window.
The National Secretariat warned that any breach of the directive would be treated seriously and dealt with in accordance with the party’s rules and regulations.
The NDC has meanwhile urged all constituencies, aspirants and members to conduct themselves with discipline, decorum and respect for the party’s democratic values throughout the electoral process.
It said the cooperation of all stakeholders would be critical to ensuring a transparent, peaceful, orderly and successful 2026 internal election process.
