Small-scale traders and artisans in the Abirem Constituency are set to receive financial support under a new interest-free loan initiative launched by Frank Owusu Amoah, popularly known as ‘Bravo’.
The aspiring Abirem Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) introduced the ‘Dwetre Nketewa’ scheme at New Abirem on Sunday, September 6, 2026, with loans ranging from GH¢1,000 to GH¢5,000 available to beneficiaries.
The loans will be repaid over a five-month period, giving beneficiaries access to capital without the added burden of interest.
For Owusu Amoah, the initiative is aimed at addressing a common challenge among small-business owners; securing affordable capital without collateral.
“I know the struggles our mothers and youth go through to get small capital to start or expand their business. The banks will ask for collateral they don’t have. So I decided to come out with Dwetre Nketewa, small loan but it will make big difference in their lives,” he explained.
He said the scheme was conceived to help people who have viable business ideas or existing enterprises but lack the funds needed to expand.
The initiative is expected to benefit traders and artisans who require relatively modest amounts to purchase stock, acquire equipment or inject fresh capital into their businesses.
The launch attracted NDC branch executives, opinion leaders, traders and the former Abirem NDC parliamentary candidate, alongside other party supporters from across the constituency.
