Antoine Semenyo has moved into second place on the all-time list of Ghanaian players with the most goal contributions in the English Premier League after providing an assist in Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Coventry at the weekend.
The 26-year-old’s assist took his Premier League goal contributions to 50, moving him ahead of several Ghanaian stars and leaving only Jordan Ayew above him on the list.
Ayew leads the rankings with 60 goal contributions, although Semenyo has reached the 50-mark in significantly fewer appearances, having played nearly 100 fewer Premier League matches than the Crystal Palace forward.
Semenyo is yet to score in the league this season, but he has already registered two assists in three appearances, underlining his importance to Manchester City’s attacking play early in the campaign.
His latest contribution came in a closely contested encounter against Coventry, where City secured all three points through a 1-0 win.
With the season still in its early stages, Semenyo will be looking to add to his tally and close the gap on Ayew as he continues to establish himself among Ghana’s most productive players in Premier League history.
