Traffic movement around the Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange in the Accra metrpolis has been temporarily affected as authorities conduct a traffic simulation exercise to assess the impact of planned drainage works at Pamprom Junction.
The westbound section of the Dr. Busia Highway at Pamprom Junction was closed to traffic on Monday, September 7, 2026, as part of the exercise being undertaken under the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development (GARID) Project.
The simulation is intended to determine how the upcoming drainage construction could affect traffic flow and identify areas that are likely to experience congestion and significant delays once the actual works begin.
Project authorities say the findings will inform the development of appropriate traffic management measures to maintain the movement of vehicles and minimise disruption during the construction period.
Motorists who regularly use the affected stretch have been advised to plan their journeys ahead of time and consider alternative routes where possible.
Road users have also been urged to exercise caution and comply with temporary traffic signs and instructions from personnel deployed to manage traffic around the affected areas.
