Award-winning Ghanaian musicians Shatta Wale and Medikal have partnered with the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) to promote locally manufactured gold jewellery and support efforts to strengthen Ghana’s gold value addition industry.

The two artists paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi, to discuss a strategic collaboration aimed at promoting GoldBod Jewellery and positioning Ghana as a leading hub for gold value addition in Africa.

As part of the partnership, Shatta Wale and Medikal pledged to showcase and promote Ghanaian-made gold jewellery through their music, public appearances, social media platforms and international engagements.

The initiative is also expected to feature prominently during major events, including ShattaFest UK, where the musicians intend to highlight the quality, craftsmanship and global appeal of locally produced jewellery to international audiences.

Speaking during the meeting, Mr Gyamfi described the collaboration as an important step towards expanding Ghana’s jewellery industry, creating sustainable employment opportunities and increasing the value derived from the country’s mineral resources.

He noted that partnerships between the mining sector and the creative industry have the potential to drive economic growth while promoting Ghanaian products on the global stage.

The collaboration forms part of broader efforts by GoldBod to encourage local value addition within the gold industry and reduce the export of raw materials without processing.

The initiative is also expected to boost awareness and demand for locally crafted jewellery while supporting artisans and businesses operating within Ghana’s gold value chain.

GoldBod and stakeholders in the creative industry say promoting Made-in-Ghana products remains critical to job creation, industrial growth and building a stronger national economy.
