Two people have died following a road accident at Third Ridge Junction on the Accra–Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region.
The incident, which occurred on April Tuesday, 28, 2026, involved a Toyota Corolla and a tipper truck, according to the Ghana National Fire Service.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and rescued victims from the wreckage, including the driver of the Corolla who had been trapped.
“The Corolla driver was trapped and later pronounced dead at the hospital,” the Service said.
Five other persons sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest the accident may have been triggered by a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre by another vehicle, which caused the tipper truck to lose control and collide with the Corolla.
The Ghana National Fire Service has urged motorists to exercise caution and patience on the road to help prevent such incidents.
