Nana Agradaa has finally been released after nearly eight months in Nsawam Prison. This was confirmed by her husband, Asiamah, in a Facebook post on Tuesday, March 3, saying “Thank God my wife is finally home,” expressing gratitude over her return.
The former fetish priestess-turned-evangelist, whose real name is Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, was initially sentenced on July 3, 2025, to 15 years’ imprisonment with hard labour after being convicted of defrauding by false pretence and charlatanic advertisement.
The Circuit Court in Accra noted that the offences were premeditated and imposed a custodial sentence as a deterrent.
However, the High Court in Amasaman later reviewed and significantly reduced her sentence to one year. The court reasoned that only two victims were involved, the total amount defrauded was GH¢1,000, and there is no defined minimum sentence for this offence.
The ruling also ordered that the amount be refunded to the victims.
Agradaa’s conviction followed a 2022 incident at her Weija-based Heaven Way Champions International Ministry, where she advertised an all-night service promising to distribute large sums of money to attendees.
Investigations revealed that she collected money from participants but failed to deliver the promised funds.
