Thirteen people have died and five others sustained critical injuries in a road crash involving a Ford Transit and a Toyota Hiace on the Sege Highway towards Ada.
The accident occurred on Wednesday, September 2, while the two vehicles were travelling along the Sege-Ada stretch.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Sege Fire Station, were dispatched to the scene to rescue and attend to the victims.

A report signed by Isaac Kojo Opoku, Assistant Divisional Officer at the GNFS Public Relations Department, said all 18 people involved in the crash were either killed or injured.
The five survivors were transported to the Sege Polyclinic for medical treatment.
The GNFS has expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured victims a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, investigations are underway to establish the cause of the crash, while further details, including the identities of the victims, are expected to emerge.
