About eleven out of the eighteen districts in the Volta Region have been affected by severe flooding following heavy rainfall across the area.
The Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation, Mr. Pascal Agbagba, confirmed the situation in an interview with the media, describing the impact as devastating.
According to him, the floods have affected schools, health facilities, homes, and other properties across several communities in the region.
He noted that assessment teams, together with the Regional Minister and NADMO officials, are expected to tour the affected areas to evaluate the extent of damage and coordinate relief efforts.
Mr. Agbagba urged residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions, including staying indoors when conditions become unsafe, as authorities continue to monitor the situation and respond to the disaster
