The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has hinted at a stronger partnership between the agency and garment manufacturing firm Uni-Jay Limited to expand skills training and create more employment opportunities for young Ghanaians.
The assurance came during a working visit to the company as part of his ongoing tour of the Ashanti Region.
He was accompanied by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Operations, Abubakari Abdul Saana Kudus.
Uni-Jay Limited, founded by Janet Abobigu, is one of Ghana’s leading garment manufacturing companies, producing school uniforms, corporate wear, security and mining uniforms, hospital scrubs and bespoke African apparel.
The company also serves as one of YEA’s accredited skills training centres, providing practical training and hands-on industry experience for beneficiaries under the agency’s Skills Training Module.
During the visit, Mr. Basintale commended the founder and management of Uni-Jay Limited for their significant contribution to youth empowerment through skills development, job creation and support for Ghana’s garment manufacturing industry.
He praised the company’s commitment to equipping young people with practical, marketable skills that enhance their employability and contribute to national development.
The YEA Chief Executive said the agency is considering strengthening its collaboration with Uni-Jay Limited to increase training opportunities for beneficiaries and create sustainable employment pathways for more young people across the country.
