The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nii Odarlai Parker, has accused some disgruntled members in Weija-Gbawe of forging the signature of the party’s National Chairman in an attempt to halt constituency elections.
The disgruntled members are Daniel Awotwi, Seth Apraku Danquah and Munkaila among others.
According to him, a statement purportedly signed by NPP National Chairman Danquah Smith indicating that the Weija-Gbawe constituency elections had been suspended is fake and should be disregarded.
Nii Odarlai Parker described the individuals behind the alleged document as “desperate” and warned them against engaging in acts that could undermine the integrity of the party’s internal processes.
“These are thieves and hardened criminals forging the National Chairman’s signature and letter,” he stated.
He insisted that the constituency election process would proceed as planned, stressing that both old and newly qualified delegates would be allowed to participate in the voting exercise.
“Delegates, whether old or new, will vote,” he added.
The Greater Accra Regional Secretary further argued that individuals who resort to such tactics should not be entrusted with the responsibility of managing the affairs of the Weija-Gbawe constituency.
His comments follow the circulation of a letter claiming that the constituency elections had been put on hold, a claim he has strongly rejected as fraudulent.
