Tema Oil Refinery Ladies Association(TORLA) is renewing its call for greater breast cancer awareness this October, urging the public to share reliable information about breast health and encourage open conversations about the disease.
As part of its Pink October campaign, the organisation is highlighting the importance of helping women access accurate information, understand breast health and know where to seek answers to their concerns.
This year’s campaign is being observed under the theme, “Every Story Is Unique, Every Journey Matters,” which recognises the individual experiences of people affected by breast cancer and emphasises the need for care, understanding and support.
TORLA acknowledges that breast cancer can be a difficult subject to discuss but says sharing reliable information can help break the silence surrounding the disease and encourage more informed conversations.
The campaign encourages individuals to share breast health messages with family members, friends and others within their communities, stressing that even a simple conversation can make a difference.
It also seeks to remind the public that people affected by breast cancer have different experiences and deserve compassion and support throughout their journeys.
Through its Pink October initiative, TORLA is encouraging collective efforts to improve breast cancer awareness and create an environment where people feel comfortable seeking information and support.
The organisation says greater awareness and open communication can help ensure that women are better informed about their breast health and the available avenues for professional guidance.
The campaign forms part of broader breast cancer awareness efforts observed during October, which seek to promote education, early detection and support for those affected by the disease.
