The Ministry of Health has announced a nationwide mop-up recruitment exercise to fill vacancies created by applicants who failed to report to their selected districts and health facilities.
The exercise is scheduled for Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11 a.m. GMT, according to a statement issued by the Ministry on Saturday, October 3.

The Ministry said a total of 432 vacancies will be available to prospective applicants during the exercise.
The largest share of the vacancies is for nurses, with 266 positions allocated to teaching hospitals, 133 to Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) facilities and 30 to the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
This brings the nursing vacancies to 429 positions.
For pharmacy professionals, the Ministry has announced 36 vacancies, comprising five positions for pharmacists and 31 for pharmacist technicians.
The Ministry said the recruitment exercise is specifically intended to replace applicants who have refused to report to the districts and facilities they were initially assigned to.
Prospective applicants have been directed to access the Ministry of Health’s recruitment portal to participate in the exercise.
