The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has held bilateral talks with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, His Excellency Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, in New York.
The meeting focused on strengthening Ghana-Saudi Arabia relations, with particular attention to railway development and energy infrastructure.
According to Mr Ablakwa, the two sides also agreed to deepen cooperation on a number of priority continental issues as Ghana prepares to assume the chairmanship of the African Union.
He said Ghana and Saudi Arabia would accelerate high-level engagements aimed at increasing Saudi investments in Ghana and supporting President John Dramani Mahama’s transformative Reset Agenda.
He concluded that the discussions form part of Ghana’s broader diplomatic engagements to strengthen bilateral partnerships and attract investment to strategic sectors of the economy.
