The Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affiars and Regional Integration has agreed to renew work permits for Ghanaian nationals employed in the construction and engineering sectors under private business arrangements.
The development follows discussions between officials of the two countries aimed at resolving concerns surrounding the status of Ghanaian workers in The Bahamas.
According to officials, the issue was successfully addressed through constructive engagements, paving the way for affected Ghanaian professionals to continue their work in the Caribbean nation.
The move is expected to provide relief to Ghanaian workers and businesses involved in ongoing construction and engineering projects in The Bahamas.
The Minister Samuel Pkudzeto-Ablakwa expressed appreciation to the Minister of State for Immigration of The Bahamas, Hon. Darron S. Pickstock, MP, for his leadership and cooperation throughout the discussions.
