The Gomoa West Constituency in the Central Region, Richard Gyan -Mensah has taken another step towards improving early childhood education following the opening of a new kindergarten (KG) classroom blocks at Gomoa Simbrofo and the Gomoa Antseadze-Odumase DA School.
A refurbished KG classroom block at Gomoa Brofo was also handed over to the school as part of efforts to provide pupils with safe and conducive learning environments.
The opening and handover formed part of activities marking the beginning of the new academic year, with the Member of Parliament joining the District Chief Executive (DCE) and the District Education Director to welcome pupils back to school after the vacation.
As part of the initiative, the schools received tables and chairs, as well as teaching and learning materials to support effective teaching and learning.
Addressing the gathering, the MP urged teachers and members of the beneficiary communities to take good care of the facilities and ensure that they are properly maintained for the benefit of current and future pupils.
The MP also cautioned school authorities and communities against neglecting minor defects in school infrastructure, stressing that addressing such problems early could prevent them from developing into major challenges requiring costly interventions.
The MP expressed appreciation to traditional leaders, teachers, Assembly staff and party supporters for their participation in the activities.
The initiative, according to the MP, forms part of broader efforts to advance the development agenda of the Gomoa West Constituency, particularly in the area of education and early childhood development.
The MP reaffirmed the commitment to supporting initiatives that improve educational infrastructure and create better learning conditions for children across the constituency.
