A 50-year-old Deacon of the Church of Pentecost, Osei Kwabena, has allegedly been killed by a 20-year-old man at his farm at Offinso Abrokyire in the Ashanti Region.
According to information gathered, the incident occurred when the Deacon went to his farm, where the suspect, identified as Atambire, 20, allegedly attacked him with a cutlass and knife.
The attack reportedly resulted in the death of Deacon Osei Kwabena at the farm.
Sources further indicate that shortly after the alleged killing, the suspect attacked the Chief of Offinso Abrokyire, injuring his hand with a knife.
In a further development, Atambire was reportedly knocked down by a vehicle while on the roadside after the incident.
He was subsequently pronounced dead by residents who went to his aid.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear as police have commenced investigations to establish what led to the attacks and the subsequent death of the suspect.
The body of Deacon Osei Kwabena has been deposited at the morgue pending further investigations and other procedures.
