The welfare executives of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Tema Station branch in the Greater Accra Region, have paid a courtesy visit to Nii Okanta Ankrah II, Head of the Mantse Ankrah Family, at his residence in support of this year’s Homowo celebrations.
During the visit, the delegation presented a token to Nii Okanta Ankrah II as a contribution towards the celebration of the Ga-Dangme festival.
The gesture was described as an expression of solidarity with the traditional leadership and a demonstration of the transport union’s commitment to preserving and supporting indigenous traditions and cultural heritage.
Receiving the delegation, Nii Okanta Ankrah II expressed his appreciation to the Welfare Executives of the GPRTU Tema Station branch for their gesture and support.
He thanked the group for its solidarity and commitment to the promotion and preservation of the Homowo tradition.
The visit forms part of activities leading up to the Homowo celebrations, which bring together traditional authorities, families, residents and organisations to celebrate Ga cultural heritage and communal unity.
