An audit report has raised concerns over a publicity services contract between the National Lottery Authority (NLA) and online news platform MyNewsGH.com belonging journalist Stephen Zoure, citing possible breaches of procurement procedures and recommending sanctions against officials involved.

According to the report, the NLA entered into a contract with MyNewsGH.com for the provision of publicity services, including the publication of NLA-related stories, advertisements, promotional campaigns, and interviews on lottery products and draws.

The agreement reportedly attracted a monthly payment of GHS40,000, inclusive of taxes.
The audit found that the NLA paid a total of GHS400,000 to the media platform between March and December 2025 under the arrangement.

However, the auditors stated that management did not obtain approval from the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) Board to use the single-source procurement method for the contract.

The report recommended that appropriate sanctions under Section 92 of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663), as amended, be applied to the officers responsible for the procurement process.

The findings have also raised questions about potential conflict-of-interest concerns involving the leadership of the NLA and the ownership of the media platform.

Authorities are expected to provide further clarification on the circumstances surrounding the contract and the measures being taken to address the audit findings. Meanwhile,
many Pro NDc media houses are languishing in pain for not getting similar adverts from NLA
Our checks indicates that pro government newspapers editors are questioning why NLA did not give them adverts but prefer giving to online portal that lacks the capacity
