Former Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, has continued his consultations with senior figures of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as part of his campaign to become the party’s First National Vice Chairman.
As part of the outreach, Dr. Abdul-Hamid paid a courtesy call on respected party stalwart and former NPP General Secretary, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, to formally inform him of his decision to contest the position and seek his blessings.
During the meeting, Ing. Agyepong expressed his support for Dr. Abdul-Hamid’s ambition and wished him success in the contest.
He also encouraged the aspiring First National Vice Chairman to use the office, if elected, to help re-engineer the party’s values and strengthen its organizational foundations.
According to Dr. Abdul-Hamid, Ing. Agyepong urged him to work towards restoring what he described as the NPP’s “golden age” of patriotism and volunteerism, values he said have long defined the party’s identity and contributed to its growth.
Dr. Abdul-Hamid has been engaging senior party leaders and stakeholders across the country as he seeks support for his bid, pledging to promote unity, strengthen grassroots participation, and contribute to the renewal of the NPP ahead of future electoral contests.
