Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has joined the leadership, staff and partners of Delta Air Lines to celebrate the airline’s 20th anniversary of operations in Ghana, describing the milestone as a testament to the strong and enduring relationship between Ghana and the United States.
Speaking at a commemorative event marking the occasion, Mr. Debrah praised Delta Air Lines for its sustained commitment to Ghana over the past two decades, highlighting the airline’s role in strengthening connectivity, facilitating trade and investment, and fostering closer ties between the two countries.
According to him, Delta’s operations in Ghana have gone beyond air travel, helping to reconnect families, promote tourism and create opportunities for business growth and economic development.
In his remarks, the Chief of Staff commended the airline for its consistency, resilience and confidence in Ghana’s economic prospects.
He noted that Delta’s long-standing presence in the country reflects both the strength of the partnership between Ghana and the United States and Ghana’s growing importance as a gateway to Africa.
Mr. Debrah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing the country’s aviation sector through continued investments in modern infrastructure and policies that support growth.
He cited the ongoing expansion of facilities at Accra’s international airport as part of broader efforts to improve connectivity, facilitate trade and tourism, and position Ghana as a leading aviation hub in the region.
The Chief of Staff emphasized that improved air transport links remain critical to attracting investment, boosting economic activity and strengthening international partnerships.
He congratulated Delta Air Lines on reaching the significant milestone and expressed optimism about the future of the partnership between the airline and Ghana.
Mr. Debrah said the government looks forward to deepening collaboration with Delta and supporting initiatives that connect people, businesses and opportunities across continents.
Delta Air Lines began operations in Ghana in 2006 and has since played a key role in linking Accra with major destinations in the United States, contributing to increased travel, commerce and cultural exchange between the two nations.
