Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has expressed his desire for the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, to continue in office for as long as possible, citing his experience and longstanding contribution to the party.
Speaking on Citi FM, Mr Gbande described Mr Asiedu Nketiah, popularly known as “General Mosquito,” as a key pillar of the NDC, highlighting his decades of service and influence within the party.
According to him, the National Chairman’s deep knowledge of the party’s structures and political experience remain valuable assets that continue to benefit the NDC.
Mr Gbande noted that many current members of the party have been shaped and guided by Asiedu Nketiah’s leadership and mentorship over the years.
“General Mosquito is the spirit of our party today. You like him or not, I would have loved to have the experience of him managing the party for a little bit longer.
He’s currently the National Chairman of the party,” he said.
He added that Mr Asiedu Nketiah remains one of the most experienced individuals within the NDC and deserves recognition for his contributions to the growth and development of the party.
Mr Gbande also cautioned party members against publicly attacking the National Chairman over disagreements with some of his decisions, urging them to use the party’s internal structures to resolve concerns.
