The Permanent Mission of Ghana to the United Nations has announced that members of the Ghanaian community in the United States selected for government-sponsored FIFA World Cup tickets have received their tickets electronically.
In a follow-up notice issued on June 25, 2026, the Mission said the distribution followed a directive from the Ministry of Sports and Recreation in Accra, which requested the submission of a limited number of names from the Ghanaian community for consideration.
According to the Mission, consultations were held with established and recognised Ghanaian associations and community groups, after which a consolidated list of prospective beneficiaries was forwarded to the Ministry for further action.
The Mission confirmed that individuals whose names were submitted have since received their World Cup tickets electronically.
However, it expressed regret that the limited allocation made it impossible to accommodate all members of the Ghanaian community who had expressed interest in attending the tournament.
The Mission thanked the Ghanaian community for its understanding and wished the Black Stars success in their FIFA World Cup campaign
