The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has temporarily closed the KFC branch located on Oxford Street, Osu, for operating without a valid hygiene permit.
The closure was carried out as part of the FDA’s enforcement measures to ensure that food service establishments comply with food safety and public health regulations.
According to the Authority, the fast-food outlet was found to be operating without the required hygiene permit, which is mandatory for businesses involved in food preparation and service.
The FDA has in recent times intensified inspections of restaurants, food outlets and other related establishments across the country to ensure adherence to approved hygiene and safety standards.
The temporary closure is expected to remain in effect until the facility regularises its operations and obtains the necessary certification from the relevant authorities.
The FDA has urged food service operators to comply with regulatory requirements to protect consumers and prevent potential public health risks.
