The Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Edmund Kombat, has been honoured for his contribution to public service and the Church during the opening of the 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting of Assemblies of God Ghana.

The ceremony, held at the Pentecost Convention Centre at Gomoa-Fetteh in the Central Region, brought together church leaders, members, government officials and other distinguished guests, including President John Dramani Mahama.

Mr Kombat expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing the honour as a reminder that leadership is ultimately about service, integrity, sacrifice and meaningful impact.

According to him, the recognition has further strengthened his resolve to serve Ghana with humility, excellence and dedication.

Reflecting on the message delivered by his spiritual father, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, Mr Kombat said Christians in public service had a responsibility to demonstrate their faith through their conduct and commitment to the national interest.

He said the call for Christians to be “the light of the world and the salt of the earth” should be reflected in the way they serve the country.

“As Christians in public service, we must represent Jesus Christ well in our service to Mother Ghana, demonstrating our faith through character, excellence, humility and commitment to the public good,” he stated.

The TOR Managing Director also emphasised that public office was temporary, but the impact of responsible leadership could outlive the tenure of an office holder.

“Our positions are temporary, but the impact of our service can endure,” he said.

Mr Kombat subsequently dedicated the honour to God and reaffirmed his commitment to upholding faith, integrity and excellence in public leadership.

The 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting of Assemblies of God Ghana continues to provide a platform for the Church to deliberate on its mission, leadership and contribution to Ghana’s development
