New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, leader and presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has congratulated the party’s newly elected national executives following the successful completion of the party’s national elections in Kumasi.
The elections, held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, marked the final stage of the NPP’s internal reorganisation ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In a statement issued by his Communications Directorate on Sunday, October 4, Dr Bawumia said the elections were conducted in an atmosphere of peace and transparency.
He said the outcome reflected the wishes of delegates of the party and congratulated all those elected to the various national executive positions.
Dr Bawumia expressed the expectation that the new national executives, led by National Chairman John Boadu, would immediately begin preparations to position the party for the 2028 elections.
He assured the new leadership of his support as they work to build what he described as an inclusive system capable of harnessing the talents and strengths of all members of the NPP.
According to him, every member and talent within the party would be needed in the campaign towards the 2028 elections.
“In victory or in defeat, no talent should be left out in the 2028 campaign,” Dr Bawumia said.
The NPP’s national executive elections brought the party’s nationwide reorganisation exercise to an end, paving the way for the new leadership to focus on strengthening the party ahead of the next general election.
