A billboard featuring former Energy Minister and New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairmanship aspirant Boakye Agyarko has collapsed at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, where the party’s National Delegates Conference was underway.
The billboard reportedly fell onto several vehicles parked within the vicinity of the stadium, causing damage to the cars.
The incident occurred amid heightened activity at the venue as delegates and supporters gathered for the NPP’s national executive elections.
There were no immediate reports of injuries in connection with the collapse.
The cause of the billboard’s collapse was not immediately clear, although the incident was expected to raise questions about the safety and structural integrity of promotional installations at the conference venue.
Boakye Agyarko is among the candidates contesting the NPP National Chairmanship position at the conference.
