Prominent National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth activist, Patrick Prince Ankrah, popularly known as Kofi Wayo, has passed away.
Sources close to the late activist confirmed to The Overseer Media that Kofi Wayo died at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) after a short illness.
Before his untimely death, Kofi Wayo served as an unofficial attaché to the Office of the Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
News of his passing has sparked an outpouring of grief across social media, with tributes pouring in from party members, friends, and well-wishers who described him as a passionate and dedicated young comrade
The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, described Kofi Wayo’s death as “shocking and unfortunate,” noting his unwavering commitment to the NDC and youth development.
Similarly, Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, expressed deep sorrow, recalling fond memories of Kofi during their time in opposition and his active involvement in party mobilization efforts.
Many members of the NDC Youth Wing have taken to social media to mourn the loss, reflecting on their shared experiences during the 2024 campaign season.
Kofi Wayo will be remembered for his zeal, loyalty, and tireless dedication to the cause of the NDC and youthempowerment in Ghana.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced by the family.
