The newly appointed Managing Director of the Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC), Dr. Wisdom Kofi Dogbey has engaged management of OFI Food Ingredients (OFI), in enhancing cocoa partnership and driving economic growth.
OFI is one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of cocoa paste and one of CMC’s key clients and a major player in the global cocoa industry.
The visit, which included a tour of OFI’s state-of-the-art factory and warehouse in Kumasi, was marked by warm hospitality and productive discussions between the leadership teams of both companies.
During the visit, Dr. Dogbey emphasized the importance of deepening the partnership with OFI, highlighting the shared goals of innovation, quality, and sustainability in cocoa production.
“As two leading entities in the cocoa sector, we have a unique opportunity to work together to not only grow our respective companies but also contribute positively to Ghana’s economy,” he remarked.
He highlighted the need to explore effective and innovative ways of transacting and collaborating, to create a more resilient and prosperous cocoa supply chain.”
The discussions centred on several key areas, including the potential for joint initiatives that enhance product quality, and leverage technology for improved operational efficiency.
Dr. Dogbey expressed a keen interest in OFI’s commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility, recognizing the alignment of values between the two organizations.
During the tour of the facility, he noted that “We are committed to ensuring that our cocoa beans are sourced responsibly and that our farmers are supported in their endeavours,”.
The visit also provided an opportunity for both leadership teams to exchange insights on market trends and consumer preferences, with a focus on adapting to the evolving demands of the global cocoa market.
In discussing the personnel strength of the facility, the CMC MD underscored the importance of innovation, stating, “In today’s fast-paced environment, we must continuously seek new ways to enhance our products and services, ensuring that we remain competitive on the world stage.”
