Two people have sustained injuries after a diesel tanker overturned at Densuso on the Accra-Kumasi Highway following a tyre burst.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the incident occurred on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, when a DAF XF diesel tanker with registration number GE 2573-11 was involved in a road traffic accident at Densuso.
According to the GNFS, the tanker was travelling from Tema to Kumasi when one of its front tyres burst, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
“Preliminary information indicated that the tanker was travelling from Tema to Kumasi when a front tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control and overturn,” the Service said.

Two males sustained injuries in the accident, while the tanker’s head and bulk suffered partial damage.
The Suhum Municipal Fire Station responded to the incident after a seven-member crew led by ASTNO Kissiedu Alexander was dispatched at 6:52am.
The crew arrived at the scene at 6:57am and conducted a search to determine whether anyone was trapped inside the tanker.

The GNFS said no casualty was found trapped in the vehicle.
A charged hose line was subsequently deployed to cool the tanker and reduce the risk of ignition from the spilled fuel.
The fire crew remained at the scene until 10:55am after ensuring that the area was safe.

The GNFS said its intervention focused on securing the area and mitigating the risk of fire following the fuel.
