The Ministry of Finance has approved the payment of three quarters of rent allowances to personnel of Ghana’s security services, covering the period from January to September 2026.
According to the Press Secretary at the Ministry of the Interior, Julius Kwame Anthony, all necessary validation processes have been completed by the relevant security agencies and the Ministry of the Interior.
In a post on X on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, Mr. Anthony said, “I can confirm that the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has approved the payment of three quarters of rent allowances, covering January to September, to personnel of the security services,” he said.
He said the completion of the process has paved the way for the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to effect the payments.
“All validation processes have been completed by the respective security agencies and the Ministry of the Interior, paving the way for the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to effect payment,” he stated.
The announcement provides an update on the payment of rent allowances for personnel of the security services for the first nine months of 2026.
The Ministry of the Interior has indicated that the required validation by the security agencies and the ministry has been completed, with payment now expected to be processed by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department.
